Make Your Own T-Post Sleeves

Save time. Move faster. Trap smarter.
The Pig Brig Trap System is fast to set up on its own — but adding T-post sleeves gives you an edge. These simple, homemade sleeves make setup and relocation faster, especially if you’re working solo.
How to Make T-Post Sleeves
Use these sleeves to anchor your cam straps and protect your net from damage in the field.
What You'll Need
- (1) 8' galvanized pipe with a 1 5/8" inside diameter
- (1) Eyebolts: 3/8" x 2.5" (alternatively: 5/16" x 2.5")
- (10) Additional nuts or lock washers sized to your eyebolt
- Sawzall, pipe cutter or die grinder
- Drill with a bit sized to your eyebolt
- Meal file
- Tape measure
- Eye and ear protection
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Cut the Pipe
Measure and cut your 1 ⅝” galvanized pipe into 8-inch sections. You’ll need one per T-post (10 total).
Pro tip: Cut extras — you’ll want backups.
2. Mark and Drill for Eyebolt
From the top of each pipe section, measure 2" down and mark it. Secure the pipe with a C-clamp, then drill straight through both sides at your mark.
3. File the Top Smooth
Use a metal file to smooth the top edge of the pipe. This helps prevent net snags and tearing during setup and use.
4. Add Eyebolt
Insert and thread your eyebolt through the drilled hole. This will be the anchor point for your cam strap.
5. Repeat
Repeat steps 1-4 until you have 10 sleeves, one for each T-post.
Using in the Field
- Slide a sleeve over each T-post
- Hook your cam strap into the eyebolt, with the hook facing outward.
- Hang your net loop over the hook and eyebolt to secure it in place.
Ready to Roll
You just built a set of rugged, reusable tools that make your trap faster to set up, break down, and move. And that matters, because feral hogs don’t punch a clock. They’re tearing up fields, busting fences, and costing landowners billions - all day, every day, all year long. If you’ve got pigs, you’ve got problems. And Pig Brig® Net Trap System is one of the smartest ways to fix ‘em. Designed by scientists. Field-tested by landowners. Improved by experience.
We trap smarter, so you can protect what’s yours.
Here’s the thing: Pig Brig built the original net-based trap system. We created the category, and we’ve been refining it ever since, based on data, field testing, and feedback from thousands of trappers across the country. Our trap works. It works year-round. And it works hard, just like you.
