Technical Specialist, Trap Support

Pig Brig® Trapping Systems (pigbrig.com) provides farmers, ranchers, landowners, and conservationists worldwide with the best tools and techniques to solve feral hog problems. We offer a patented trap system that is effective, lightweight, low-cost, easy to use, and simple to set up. This system weighs less than 80 lbs., has a single trap catch record of over 70 hogs, and is changing how feral hogs are managed. With more than 5,000 traps in the field in nearly 30 countries, Pig Brig Trapping Systems is fast-growing and fast-paced. This Eastern Connecticut-based company was founded in 2020 by Vickie and Tony DeNicola, a wife-and-husband team of wildlife ecologists, who launched this business with a customer-centered approach, innovative thinking, and conservation-led solutions. What You’ll Do
  • Orient new trap owners on trap use, answer questions, and help owners trap successfully using the Zendesk system both over the computer, phone, and virtually
  • Troubleshoot with trap owners solving problems via phone and virtually
  • Manage repairs and returns, recording all returns and ensuring proper documentation and inventory management
  • Works closely with Customer Support to help customers by educating, cross-training, and reporting
  • Assist Outreach, Education, and Research (OER) with the new product roadmap
  • As assigned by the Director of OER, assist with coordinating the Beta Testers for Pig Brig Product Development and recording their feedback via Excel/Google Sheets
  • Monitor social media channels for trap owners, responding to questions and comments and adding new content when assigned.
  • Manage Prig Brig owners group for trap owners responding to questions and comments and adding new content
  • As assigned, assists with the development of video and text-based content related to Trap System usage (e.g., support videos, user manuals, TikTok, Facebook)
  • Partner with OER and Business Development to assist in field programs and workshops as assigned (~15% Domestic and some International Travel)
  • Work with the Product Development Team to surface customer feedback and brainstorm new product ideas
  • Assist with developing new product ideas with the Product Development team
What You’ll Need
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Wildlife (Science, Biology, or Ecology), Environmental Ecology, Natural Resources, or a closely associated field (e.g., Forestry Degree) is required.
  • Proven experience in data analysis
  • High proficiency and skill in feral hog trapping, research, and management
  • Solid understanding of the latest trapping techniques and industry best practices
  • Strong knowledge of technology (e.g., collaborative software, media applications, general technical skills) and social media channels
  • Strong attention to detail and mechanical capabilities
  • Track record of customer-facing roles
Nice to Haves
  • Knowledge and/or experience of the Pig Brig Trapping System.
  • MS in Wildlife Management or a related field or equivalent technical experience
  • Certified Wildlife Biologist
  • Proven passion for conservation
